“Our expanded coverage schedule including a wide array of poker variants will give our viewers even more opportunities to follow all the action of the world’s most prestigious tournament series.”
As Simmons mentioned, the 2018 broadcast schedule is set to include a multitude of non-hold’em events, in response to fan feedback last year. Among these event additions are streamed final tables of $10K Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, $1,500 Eight Game Mix, $10K No Limit Lowball Draw, $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better, $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha, $10K Seven Card Stud, $25K High Roller Pot Limit Omaha and $10K Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw.
Poker Central and ESPN already released their preliminary live coverage schedule for the WSOP Main Event from July 2 – July 14 as well as the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop from July 16-17. While much of these two prestigious events will air on ESPN, PokerGO will be offering exclusive coverage of the events outside of the ESPN broadcast windows.
“We’re looking forward to having Poker Central and ESPN tag team coverage for the WSOP again this year,” said Ty Stewart, executive director of the WSOP. “Fans can expect stellar storylines and wall-to-wall coverage throughout the event and during the ‘Big One for One Drop.’”
Broadcast Talent
'Poker After Dark' commentator Ali Nejad, who provided commentary on PokerGO during the 2017 Main Event broadcasts, will take on the role of anchoring play-by-play duties for bracelet events this summer, with guest commentary coming from “the voice of poker,” ESPN’s Lon McEachern.
A rotating cast of additional color commentators will also make appearances throughout the schedule, including the familiar voice of longtime ESPN color commentator Norman Chad. Further color commentators will be announced event by event. Check out the full event broadcast schedule below.
