The PokerStars Championship was a series of global poker tournaments which began in 2017. We might be well into August now (and the August Poker League, run by PokerStars School, in which more than $10,000 is awarded in prizes each month), but it's never too late to take a look back at July's results.

But in a nutshell, the League lets you test your poker skills against players from around the world and battle for your share of over T$10,000 in leader board and tournament prizes every month. Plus, if you've never made a deposit on PokerStars, you may be eligible for a fantastic first deposit offer.
The League consists of two different levels of competition: the Initiation level, reserved for our newest members who joined the poker school within the last 3 months, and the Masters level, which is open to all PokerStars players (only PokerStars School members will appear on the Leader Board and compete for Leader Board prizes at the end of each month).
More than 24,500 players took part in the Poker League throughout July, and we're pleased to announce the month's winners.
The first champion of the new Masters Level was player 'GRizlik14' with a total of 1035.07 points, good enough to secure the T$ 2,500 top prize. The first winner of the Initiation Level was player 'andreinalim' who scored 1279.66 points and collected T$325.

Fancy taking part? We're sure you won't regret it. One player, Kristian Nikolov, known on PokerStars as 'Exailyo', even wrote in to tell his story. Nikolov finished 3rd overall at the Initiation Level and won $85 dollars in tournament money.
'If asked I would definitely recommend to new poker players to try out The League at PokerStars School, especially the Initiation Level as the tournaments are free to play,' he said. 'You need a ticket to play these tournaments but your ticket is automatically credited to your PokerStars account as soon as you join the Poker School, it's really easy.

'The tournaments run from the 5th - 30th of each month and are easy to find in the PokerStars client. All that you would need to invest is a little of your time, and with a combination of skill and a bit of luck, you too can win something at the end of the month like I did. Play every tournament to win, and not just to finish in the top 15%, that would be my number one piece of advice. Play to win, always.'
